On the campus territory of the National technical university «KPI» the monument of known Ukrainian poetess Elena Teliga was fixed up with assistance of Dmitriy Andrievskiy, who graduated from «KPI».

«It is the honour to unveil the monument for person, who all his short life dreamed about free and independent Ukraine. On the «Students` glade» the monument of Elena Teliga is personification of eternal youth, love and patriotism. This event continues durable cultural traditions of «KPI», Dmitriy Andrievskiy underlined.

The place for the monument is chosen not casually. Elena Teliga was connected with «Politekhnik» by father, who taught in KPI, her husband Mihail Teliga and place of inhabitation.

The project author is known Ukrainian sculptor Vladimir Shchur. His bronze heroes decorate parks and streets in Kiev: Golokhvastov and Pronya Prokopovna from the film «After two hares» on Andreevskiy street, the cunning Panikovskiy on Proreznaya street, the architect Gorodetskiy in Passage, the actor Leonid Bykov near park of Glory and many other things.

The reference information: Elena Teliga (1907 – 1942) is the known poetess, literary critic, Ukrainian cultural personality. She was organizer and chairman of Ukrainian writers Union in Kiev occupied by Germans, she was the editor of literary and art tabloid «Ukrainskoe slovo» and «Litavry». On 22 February 1942 the Ukrainian writer and patriot was shooted together with husband and comrades in Babiy Yar.
